STOCK WATER:
Shallow underground water and the springfed creek systems of Maryvale, Tara, Murray and Boggy creeks form the platform for the watering systems at Maryvale. These natural waters are supported by a number of equipped dams, bores, and wells and more recently, in 2015, the water distribution was extended, via 50mm and 63mm polypipe, to numerous tanks and cement troughs thereby extending cattle grazing zones. Double frontage to the Clarke River for approx 20km provides seasonal and permanent waterholes.
RAINFALL: The annual average rainfall for Maryvale from official records, including BOM, collected since 1890 to 2012, is 643.8mm.
COUNTRY:
Maryvale predominately comprises a well-balanced mix of fertile red, chocolate and black basalt soils, along with some granite. The country ranges from tablelands, plains, ridges, and hills with some ranges on the northern side of the Clarke River.
